The colour purple has a rich history; it was once worn almost exclusively by members of Royalty and leaders of powerful empires as purple dye was especially expensive to produce. In some cultures people who chose to wear purple who were not members of Royal families could even expect the death penalty as a punishment! Thankfully, today we are all free to flaunt this plush shade to our heart’s desire. Deep purples such as amethyst and plum are big this season, with casual purple denim being seen in day wear and sparkly metallic materials and shiny satin grabbing our attention for evening wear and shoes.
We’ve picked a few of our favourite purple shoes which are fast becoming our top sellers this season. With purple also apparently standing for good judgement and happiness, it’s easy to be attracted to the charms of the once most powerful colour.
